Notification of Pesticide Spraying
Drift
of pesticides during spraying is acknowledged to be one of the
most serious problems of pesticide use. Unfortunately, the time
for most spraying, spring and summer, is also a time for open
windows and children playing outside. The risk of exposure from
drift is high. Only your awareness about pesticide use in your
neighborhood can protect you.
The
Long Island Neighborhood Network helped to draft, and for the
past nine years fought for the passage of Neighbor Notification
of Pesticide Spraying legislation. New York State has finally
enacted a first-in-the-nation Neighbor Notice law.
