PREVENTION
IS THE CURE™
The
Neighborhood Network is a participating member
of Prevention Is The Cure™ is a cooperative
project of breast health, anti-cancer, and environmental groups.
It is different from many other groups working on cancer issues.
Rather than focussing on medical research for "magic bullet"
cancer treatments, Prevention Is The Cure™
uses science-based activism to promote community wellness, informed
decision making, and reducing exposure to environmental toxins.
Prevention
Is The Cure™ will be holding an Interactive "Fun"
Walk
on Sunday, October 10th, 2004, 8 am registration / 9 am walk starts.
Join us at the American Legion Hall, corner of Mill Dam Rd. and
New York Avenue in Huntington Village.
Each year has been
better than the last. More and more of our neighbors are adding
their "voice" -- sending the message: "living in
an environment that's toxic is just not acceptable."
This year, in order
to bring more family members along, the PITC committee has decided
to make the walk more interactive. There will be a treasure hunt,
a guided tour if you will, highlighting the good and bad in our
surroundings. There will be clues, games, prizes. All will add
to the fun of the walk. So come on out, remember the date -- mark
your calendar, commit today to walk in a "proactive event"
for prevention.
